Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: March 15, 2025
Acorn is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.
Our Commitment
We strive to ensure that our website and platform comply with best practices and standards as defined by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA, and AAA). We've chosen Level AA as our target.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
Acorn is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Accessibility Features
Acorn includes the following accessibility features:
- Keyboard Navigation: All functionality is operable through a keyboard interface without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes.
- Text Alternatives: We provide text alternatives for non-text content so it can be changed into other forms people need, such as large print, braille, speech, symbols, or simpler language.
- Adaptable Content: We create content that can be presented in different ways without losing information or structure.
- Distinguishable Content: We make it easier for users to see and hear content, including separating foreground from background.
- Predictable Navigation: We make web pages appear and operate in predictable ways.
- Input Assistance: We help users avoid and correct mistakes.
- Compatible Technology: We maximize compatibility with current and future user tools.
Assistive Technology Supported
Acorn is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack)
