Our Founder Story
How ACORN grew from an idea to a transformative force in workplace growth.
The story of ACORN began with two entrepreneurs on parallel journeys. While growing their own separate businesses, Joshua and Dion maintained a strong connection, regularly sharing insights and challenges about leadership and organisational growth.
Both had experienced firsthand the transformative power of personal development on their own leadership capabilities. The profound impact of this growth sparked a pivotal question between them: "How do we give this to our teams and community on a consistent level?"
"We were both experiencing these incredible moments of clarity and growth through our own development work," recalls Joshua. "But we realised that most organisations lacked a systematic way to provide this same experience to their people. Traditional training programmes simply weren't delivering lasting change."
Dion adds, "We recognised that while companies were focused on scaling revenue and operations, they often struggled to scale their most valuable asset—their people. The name ACORN perfectly captures our philosophy. Just as mighty oak trees grow from tiny acorns, we believe that every person and organisation contains the seeds of greatness. Our purpose is to provide the right environment and support for that potential to flourish."
